The Vision

We all have a story. It comes in bits and pieces. Sometimes we cannot see the complexity of what is being written until someone else helps us gain perspective. Sometimes we have a vision but we are not sure how it will materialize. Thus is the story of Ransom Notes.

It began with a camera and a bunch of old magazines. I wanted to make a Christmas present for my Aunt Barbara. I had a photograph taken while on a trip to Costa Rica, and a picture frame with spaces for two pictures. I filled one space with the photograph and stared at the other, trying to come up with something creative. I began cutting out letters from back issues of random magazines, and when I was done I had created an interesting piece of art. My aunt loved it, and I continued to make these pieces for other friends. They were simple gifts, fun to look at, and were personal. That was the beginning.
